Subject: What Reference Can I Use To Develop an API Q1, Risk Management Procedure?
I am new to this area of quality management and I have been assigned to develop an risk management procedure that will meet API Q1, 9th Edition requirements for risk management and contingency planning. Is there an industry standard or other references that address this matter?

Hello Razif,
Thank you for contacting us. This is an excellent question and one that is being asked more often now that API Q1, 9th Edition has been released. I suggest that you consider using ISO 31000, Risk Management Principals and Guidelines as a reference or at least as a good starting point for the development of your procedure.
As you are aware, once the risk analysis has been completed, you can then move on to develop any required contingency plans based upon the results of the risk analysis.
I hope this helps.
Best regards,
